Stacking the Shelves

Yep, you guessed it, it’s Saturday, time for Tynga’s Reviews‘ Stacking the Shelves. I haven’t bought anything this week, either, but for some reason the library has increased my borrowing limit so I indulged a little there, and I have one ARC.

Cover of The Door Into Summer by Robert A. Heinlein Cover of Mindstar Rising by Peter F. Hamilton Cover of Magic Burns by Ilona Andrews Cover of Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews Cover of Warbreaker, by Brandon Sanderson

I’ve already started on Warbreaker, since I enjoyed The Rithmatist earlier this week. I wasn’t quite ready to dive into the Mistborn books…

What’s everyone been reading?

  1. I wish our library got some decent books. It’s been two years since I even went in there! Still with about 840 books on my house bookshelves and on my computer, I don’t think I’ll run out of books any time soon! Enjoy your haul!

  2. I haven’t read Warbreaker, so I’ll be looking forward to your review on that. I’ve only read the first Mistborn book, and it was really good, so hopefully you end up liking it. I’ve heard that the second and third ones aren’t so great, though..

  3. Hmm good list of books. Are you enjoying the Magic series I might have to check them out. Everyone seems to be reading Brandon Sanderson’s work right now. I hope you enjoy.

    • I definitely enjoyed the first book (my review is here). I’m looking forward to continuing the series. As for Brandon Sanderson, he’s really good — I was spurred to get on and read his stuff by the Wheel of Time’s Hugo nomination.

  4. Brandon Sanderson is quite popular right now as is Ilona Andrews. I haven’t read much from them though. I think I started an Ilona Andrews novel but I couldn’t get into it.

    • I’m enjoying Brandon Sanderson, amazing world-building. Ilona Andrews is more “bubblegum for the mind” for me, as my library volunteering partner calls it, heh.
